Your friends 7 week old baby is in the hospital....

You BEG for PRAYERS!!

First of all I want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers I know have already been expressed on our behalf. Although we are still in the hospital and not 100% certain what is going on, Alyssa appears to be doing better. Her color is better and she seems to be playful and happy at times (when she's not having blood work done, etc.
)!

At first the doctor felt as though Alyssa may have either bacterial or viral menengitis. He came in yesterday afternoon and informed us the results for bacterial menengitis came back negative. Bacterial menengitis is potentially life-threatening and especially in infants.
We're relieved to have those results in!

They've said it takes approx. 5-business days to get the results for another test they sent off for and it was not sent off until Friday. The doctor this morning said it appears we are here until at least Thursday. She (the doctor) said she knows we are tired of this place and ready to go home. We informed her we are fine with whatever they need to do (obviously) to ensure Alyssa's health.


We're in room 305 of the Children's Center at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.
This is a great hospital and the staff here has been fantastic! We've felt like royalty during our stay!

We've had a few different people helping out with Chloe and Caleb. Tosha's mom was here Saturday and Sunday to help out and my Aunt Deanna has been staying with the kids most of the time. I know they are eager for us to come home and are curious to know what is going on with Alyssa.
